Outfit Post: Coral Paisley

My sister gave me this dress a few years ago because it got a little too short for her. She grew a few inches, and I've remained 5 feet tall. The only benefit to my short height is rarely is anything too short for me.

Dress - Ann Taylor
Espadrilles - Target - $8
Earrings - Target - $1

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

This summer has really been great so far...all seven days of it. OK, it's not just this summer I'm talking about, my "summer" activities seemed to have started in Spring. I spent a week with friends in Tennessee in late April, ran my first half marathon at the beginning of May, took a family vaca to Glenn Arbor, Michigan in the middle of May, went to Italy with just my husband at the end of May, and then had a friend come visit last week for a few days. The rest of June so far I have spent in the pool or doing cute summer things with my kids (library, walks, park days, matinees, childrens' museum, ice cream and cupcake trips, lots of playdates, and the drive-in theatre two weekends in a row).

This is at the Toledo Museum of Art at their cafe - they have the most amazing food there! The Museum is set up for kids now, so it's almost like a children's art museum inside the regular art gallery. The kids loved it!
This is outside the museum with my friend who came to stay with us last week.
And this is my favorite summer picture so far - all of us at the drive-in to see Madagascar III. We loved it, of course!

Outfit Post: White Dress

I may not have posted last week, but I still tried to get some photos by any means possible. Aren't these two lovely of my white t-shirt dress that I got in Italy to wear until my luggage was delivered? Well, the dress really is great, but the photos are a little weird because a little 5 year old girl took these pictures on my phone just for fun while I was babysitting. She was fascinated by the camera on my phone and it kept her busy for a whole 10 seconds.

I'm desperate enough for photos, that yes, I'm using these to show you this fabulous outfit. Nothing better than a white knit dress for summer, jazzed up with a colorful necklace and a pair of sky high nude wedges.

Crushing on Summer Bell Bottoms

At the end of winter I couldn't wait to start adding to my collection of colored jeans. Everything cropped and bright was what I was dreaming of for spring and summer. But now that summer is almost here, I'm starting to daydream about another look for denim: bell bottoms. They just have such a great Bohemian summer vibe to them.

Here are a few I found that I like:

 An outfit by Maegan.
Outfit inspiration from Mint A La Mode.
A perfect wash for summer by Madewell.

A great flare by Buffalo Jeans.

Father's Day

In honor of Father's Day - I had to post a couple of pictures of the greatest Dad's in the world.

I'm so blessed to have Dad in my life. He has always been there for me as a protector, provider, encourager, and friend. And now I'm blessed that my children are having that same experience as I had, because my husband is an amazing father too.

I wore this dress again for Father's Day, but added the blue beads this time around. I found the dress at a thrift store for $7 and love it!

Happy Father's Day!

Outfit Post: By The Pool

Today was a playdate at the pool. I wore my dark brown Land's End slendersuit that needed a little embellishment, so I added the necklace. This Old Navy eyelet miniskirt was the perfect cover up. I love these colors together: brown, white, and turquoise.

Bathing suit - Land's End - got it on closeout clearance for $9.97
Sandals - Target - $3
Revlon nail polish in Minted for $3
Eyelet miniskirt - hand-me-down
Necklace - J.Crew - gifted

My Little Princess

We brought her the lace parasol from Venice. She loves carrying it around and it's too cute for words!

This is what the dress looked like before.

Outfit Post: Stripes, Floral, and Turquoise

I was hoping this necklace would arrive in time for my Europe trip, but since my bags were lost for most of my trip anyhow, I guess it didn't matter in the end. Plus, it gave me something to look forward to in addition to seeing my children upon my arrival home.

I don't want to wear the necklace too much and then get bored of it fast, but it does seem like this necklace should be worn with everything - it adds the right pop of color and the perfect embellishment for every outfit.

T-shirt - Mango - E9.95
Skirt - J.Crew (thrifted)- $2
Necklace - J.Crew (via eBay) - gifted
Shoes - Nine West - gifted

Outfit Post: Back in the USA

Maybe it's just my opinion, but Europeans seem to wear a lot of dark colors. I could count on one hand how many women I saw in colored jeans, and black seemed to be everyone's favorite color. It's good to be back in the US where everyone embraces color!

Top - J.Crew (thrifted) - $3
Jeans - Zara - $30
Espadrilles - Target - $8
Earrings - gifted
Jacket - gifted
Boy - priceless

Outfit Post: Venice

Ah Venice! It was so beautiful!

The dress is from Modcloth. My sister bought it for me for my Birthday and I've been saving it to wear to Venice. I'm so glad my bag arrived so I could actually wear it!

Outfit Post: Dinner in Tuscany

Relaxing at the pool before dinner...wearing nail polish from a friend who bought it especially for my trip because it's called "Midnight in Italy".

Dress thrifted, clutch from an antique store, necklace and earrings gifted
Our dinner view was so serene and beautiful!
The food was delicious!

Biking in Tuscany

We stayed at the Villa Campestri Olive Oil Resort in Tuscany for four amazing nights. Biking through the countryside was breathtaking. By this day I had finally gotten my luggage so I was able to pull out my J.Crew sneakers, Gap chambray shirt, and pink Old Navy shorts for the trek.

Losing your luggage is a great excuse to buy some things that needed replacing in your wardrobe. In my luggage I had packed a trench for the rain or cool evening weather. Thinking my bag was lost for good, I had to get a coat for the remainder of the trip since it got quite cool in the evenings. I found this one at Zara and love it!

Outfit Post: Florence

This dress is another dress I bought while my baggage was lost. I found this at United Colors of Benetton. I wore it with my gold flat sandals for walking the streets of downtown Florence. At the Santa Croce leather market I picked up this gold obi leather belt to match my gold leather sandals.
