Rockin' the rolled up boyfriend jeans today. These used to be at least two sizes too large for me and worked perfect for creating that extra baggy look. Now they work perfect as normal jeans with this baby belly. Even still, I rolled them like you would a boyfriend jean to make my look more "of the moment," and to show off my cute heels and tiny ankles.

For errand running later, I switched into pointy toe flats and added my trench coat.

I thought I was over my morning sickness since it had left for three days, and unfortunately have had it back again these past three days. I keep feeling extra winded, too, and I've missed some workouts. So I'm feeling kind of low and had to force myself to get out of my workout clothes today to put something decent on.
If it weren't for this blog, I don't think I would be making as much an effort to dress well while I was pregnant. I'm so glad I have this incentive, because after changing out of my workout clothes, I feel better already. Nothing like a polished outfit to lift your spirits. :)

I'm so glad this top still fits - I had to cut out the liner in it, since the liner was a body shaper. But now that the liner is gone, I think I should be able to make this top last quite a bit longer for this pregnancy!

Whenever I wear headbands (which is rare), I always wear pearl stud earrings. I just like how classy and elegant the combination looks.

And it's cold out, so I had to wear a sweater. I know, I am clashing two different colors of beige/taupe here, but I like the pearls in the sweater matching with my pearl earrings, and the sweater adds such a nice texture. I might switch to my jean jacket later if the clashing colors get to me.

Outfit Post: Sneakers and Crazy Photos

I wasn't going to post today, because I'm not going out of the house today except to go for a walk - and I didn't feel like being creative with my outfit. But my son told me that my shoes were so cool, I had to take a picture!
So here are my cool shoes - just plain old sneakers from Crewcuts (I wear kids sizes better than adult sizes).

And since I was already obliging my son by taking these photos, I decided to also oblige him and take a crazy photo. This one is his favorite, so this is the one crazy photo you get to see.

Outfit Post: Dressing the Bump in Blue

So while yesterday's outfit was nice in that no one guessed I was pregnant...unfortunately, the stiff non-maternity shirt and non-maternity jeans were very uncomfortable. Today I decided I'd dress to accentuate the bump, which somehow tends to always be more comfortable.

This isn't a maternity dress, but it has plenty of room. All I had to do was raise the sash a little higher to make room for the bump.
I look so much bigger today than I did yesterday! Of course, I'm relaxing my stomach muscles in this picture.

And in this picture I'm standing up straight, trying to tuck it in.

Outfit Post: Pearls and Pink Preppy/Classic Style

My outfit yesterday caused everyone I saw to comment about my growing bump. Even my husband came home and said, "Wow, you look pregnant." I reminded him that I was, just in case he'd forgotten.
Today's outfit is doing a pretty good job of camoflouging my pregnancy, which makes me wonder...

Do I want to look pregnant, or do I want to hide it and just look like I've gained some extra weight? The comments yesterday were kind of fun and made me relieved that I no longer look "fat", but "pregnant." But maybe camoflouging the bump is more slimming or flattering?

If you were in my shoes, would you rather camoflouge or accentuate your bump? Just curious.

Outfit Post: Romancing Cargo Pants

This outfit would look so much better with a belt cinching in right under the bust - but unfortunately, I don't have a belt that is comfortable enough.
I had hoped when I found this top that I could wear it in the early part of my pregnancy, and am so glad I can! It's too short to last too much longer, but is perfect for my current size.
Whenever I wear this soft pink color, I use it as an excuse to pull out my pale pink barrett and my pale pink porcelain rose earrings.
I'm not a fan of cargoes. But for the price, I couldn't pass them up. Maternity wear for me is all about comfort and low prices. I can't afford more on something I will wear for such a short time. So since they were comfortable, and only $7, they found their way home with me. They make me look shorter and wider, and just don't fit my feminine style--but hopefully the romantic top, earrings, and hairdo distract from the bottom, and I'll get my $7 worth!

Outfit Post: Cold and Gloomy Thursday

This coat I'm wearing is corduroy - matches my corduroy pants...and yes, these are actually real maternity pants! I finally caved in and decided it was time to break out the maternity wear! My stomach is thanking me. :-)

This top isn't maternity, so I won't get to wear it too much longer, but I'm glad I could wear it today since I love teal and magenta together. Wearing deep jewel tones on a day as gloomy as today just felt right.

Which, btw, the fall is so pretty here! The trees are so bright orange everywhere. It looks spectacular against a gray sky!

I should note that there is no way I'll last with the belt this tight - I'm sure in only a couple of hours, it will either be loosened to a very unflattering length, or will be off completely. Looks great for the picture, though!

And yes, I'm admiring my bump. It's nice being early in the second trimester - the calm before the storm. I'm a manageable size right now and am trying to enjoy this size before I start complaining about being huge! lol!

Outfit Post: Mom and Son Photos

Today my little family will be going door-to-door with paraphernalia on the local candidates here, and encouraging everyone to get out and vote on November 2nd. I thought it fitting to dress in red, white, and blue for the occasion.
My wedge boots are so comfortable, I've been able to walk in them all day without any pain or discomfort. So even though I prefer my tall Jessica Simpson boots to these, these are definitely more practical for a day of walking like I plan to do.

And yes, my son decided he should be in the pictures today, and I couldn't help but giggle at some of his goofy grins, and thought you all would enjoy them as well.

I guess since he sees his Mom posing everyday in front of the camera, he thinks it quite normal to pose in all sorts of ways, too!

Outfit Post: More on Maternity Wear

I'm so excited about this top I just found at Target for only $4! It has a shaper underneath, so it gives my back and belly so much support...as well as smoothes out my now popped out belly button. It isn't maternity, and I got a small, so I don't know how long it will last, but it will work through my second trimester at least, I'm guessing...which is great!

And here's a shot of the belly band again so you can see how it hides unbuttoned pants. I love the fact that I don't have to wear maternity pants yet, although I know my time is coming soon!

My husband and I are working on some of the local campaigns in preparation for the upcoming election in a few weeks, so we attended a fundraiser banquet being held for our state representative. Trying to find something professional that still fit didn't end up being too hard thanks to my new belly band, which is totally concealing the fact that my pants are unbuttoned!
I used gold accessories for my black and white suit and felt I needed some color somewhere, so I pulled out my lipstick in Russian Red by MAC.

My Mom passed on to me these striped Steve Madden heels! I hope to get plenty of wear out of them, even if they are a tad too big. My Mom and I wear the same size shoe, so she gave them to me because she was tired of them flopping off her heel as she walks. The same thing happens to me, but I'm willing to put up with the irritation long enough for quite a few outfits. We both tried heel pads to keep them from slipping, but they still slip. Oh well. It's worth it.
