My little boy, who is rapidly becoming not so little these days, wanted me to take a picture of his PJs, and I think he's so cute, I had to show him off to you all this morning.
It is supposed to get nice and warm later on today, so I'll be down to just the sleeveless blouse sans sweater and belt by the end of the day - but for now, I can cozy up with this sweater.

Blouse - Wal-Mart - $3
Jeans - J.Brand (via Ebay) - gifted
Leather sandal booties - Target - $7

Yes, today is the day after. The day after a nasty stomach virus. That's right, I was in bed...er...in the bathroom, all day yesterday feeling horrible. However, I woke up feeling great and couldn't wait to put on regular clothes and some make-up.
Speaking of make-up, I just bought Cover Girl's Lash Blast Fusion mascara and adore it. No smudging, no clumping, defined lashes, easy one time application, and plenty of length and volume! Can't ask for better than that, especially for under $8!
I also tried a sample I found in my In Style magazine for Maybelline dream matte foundation. I actually really liked it. It feels like a liquid, but then as you apply it, it gives a perfect matte finish without looking too powdery. Most foundations make my face look oily, so I have to wear powder over them, but this foundation didn't need any finishing powder.
Now back to the outfit...
A tip for wearing billowy tops -- I find wearing a long necklace with full, blousy tops helps anchor the blouse and keep it from billowing out too far. The heavy pearls help the top to lay flat, and give it that extra touch of girliness, too. Also, knotting the pearls at the chest helps the pearls to lay in the center of the bust, instead of slipping to one side or the other throughout the day.

Today is another hot summer day in Florida. Being so hot, I took my sisters shopping in the air conditioned mall! I am wearing a more fall colored scarf. I think I am secretly hoping that if I wear fall colors we'll have fall weather.
I never do a center part, I'm use to my side part and I always keep a side part.
But today I decided to try a center part. Go crazy! LOL! Here I am with some velcro rollers at the top of my head for a bit of body and hopes to train my normally side parted hair to go do the middle.
and the finished product
I look fine with a middle part, right? lol I think it needs more body though:-(
quick full body pic. I'm taking these with "photo booth" on my mac, so you have only 3 seconds...hense the blurry running from the computer shot. LOL
I'm taking a mini roadtrip tonight with my son, and lately it's been getting cool in the evenings. I figured this scarf would be the perfect thing to ward off the evening chill.
I can already smell fall in the air out here in Northwest Ohio. I'm looking forward to putting together some "crossover" outfits as the weather will start to cool down. Outfits that will be warm enough for the mornings and evenings, but cool enough for the heat of the day.

Designer Apparel, an awesome shopping search engine for designer fashions, is offering these earrings to one of our USA/Canada readers. Their site takes you straight to amazing designers like Isabel Marant and Kate Spade, to smaller labels like Berek.
While you know I'm all for a good bargain, and rarely ever sport designer apparel on this site (only if J.Brand jeans from Ebay and Coach bags count? loL!), every once in a while I think certain occasions can call for a special item...and using Designer Apparel's search engine is a great way to get that designer piece your craving for the best price!
So to enter this giveaway, all you have to do is tell me who your favorite designer is and why. Also, make sure you leave contact info so I can let you know if you won. You have up until September 1st to enter the giveaway.
I bought this t-shirt a couple of sizes too large intentionally so I could wear it to lounge around the house, but unfortunately, found that the scoop neck was ridiculously low. Now I wear the shirt backwards and love the drapey effect.
I'm off to the water park now - my last hurrah for summer!

Dress - Free People (thrifted) - $5
Vera Bradley change purse (gifted)

In the meantime, here's another outfit, not very different from my last. Same skirt, same shoes, but a different white shirt and jacket.
I fell in love with this blazer as soon as I spotted it at Goodwill! I love the texture, cut, and color!
Blazer - Guess (thrifted) - $3.50
White shirt - Target - $6
I was in Virginia all week this past week and working from the office instead of from home (my office is actually in Virginia, not Ohio where I live). I wore this on Friday.
Sorry I didn't get around to posting much - I only packed outfits that have already debuted on the blog (except what I wore Friday), so I didn't bother to post them again.

Skirt - Gap - $17
