Cozy sweater

I love this sweater, and am always sad that it doesn't photograph well. Yes, this was like the 10th photo I took and its blurry! Argh. The proportion just looks "off" in a photo - but when you're walking or moving in it, it looks really great. Either way, I won't be parting with it anytime soon.

Artistic afternoon.....

So, today I went to Holland Home where my quartet performs. Also, I was playing a violin solo, I wanted it to be casual, since our little concert is always very laid back, but I also wanted to do something kinda fun and comfortable.

I love this skirt, but I'm not quite sure yet what the best combination to wear with it would be...but I have fun trying new things :)

Getting a Mary Kay makeover tonight, just for fun, which is why I'm sans make-up today. Thought I'd do a bit of my Christmas shopping through MK after my makeover, too.

I'm so excited about Christmas--this will be the first Christmas where we won't be traveling 8 to 11 hours to go see family...we live so near them now!

Nothing creative about my outfit today, but I feel great in it. A pencil skirt, tailored sweater, boots, and feminine jewelry = winning combination for my figure.

Wedding weekend

So I already posted what I wore to the bachelorette party Thursday night, and this is what I wore to the rehearsal dinner Friday night.

Nailene Product Review

Nailene sent me this french tip pen kit to do a product review.

I just finished using the kit on my toes and was surprised at how easy the pen makes the application. Nevertheless, the white coat is not half as polished as the regular brush glides. I think that although I enjoyed the simplicity of the kit, I would much prefer buy the regular white polish than use the pen.

Has anyone else tried the pen kit?

Revlon Fantasy Lengths

Remember when I posted about trying out Revlon's false eyelashes? Well I've finally had a chance to try them.

For this being my first application, I think they look ok. I was impressed with how easy they actually were to apply and then how natural they look once on before applying mascara. I need to practice more later on to get them to look even better, but for now I'm loving the fun, flirty look.

I'm wearing the Fantasy Length version that you glue on. My eyes must be big, because I didn't have to cut them at all and had plenty of space on each side that could have used some more lash. I've worn them all day so far without any problems.

Missi told me you are supposed to apply mascara to falsies, so I added two coats of black mascara for even more pizazz. Then I lined both the top and bottom rims with a thick coat of black eyeliner. To soften the look, I brushed on the turquoise shadow on the top and bottom, over the liner. I added white highlighter to the brow bone and inner corners of my eyes, as well as a darker shade of blue green to the eyelid crease.

Busy day

I have a board meeting to attend this afternoon, but needed to go sans make-up so I could go tanning first (I am a bridesmaid in a wedding and wearing a strapless dress). After the board meeting I have MOPS. Picking out an outfit that could look professional (for the meeting) and yet casual (for MOPS) was tricky...and the no make-up thing made it worse. But with some mascara and lipstick (places that do not need to tan), I get away with a blank face. The blazer gives me that professional edge and the corduroys make it casual.
