This might sound strange but try it. I had braces as an adult also. I remember not being able to eat anything but yogurt. Finally, someone who worked at the orthodontist suggested chewing on a baby's teething toy. She said that I needed to get the blood flowing and by chewing on it, it would help. I got one of those water filled bracelet types. Guess what -- it did help. I felt dumb but I knew I needed to do something. You might want to try it!
